Production Reflection
Reflection for the Production Journey Through The Legends
Something I was pleased with was when the smoke machine went on because it looked really cool when it went on and I think I heard some wows.
I really enjoyed learning new actions with Miss Eglinton
because we all would have no actions at all.
Something I found hard was to remember my line
because I not very good at remembering things.
Something that made me think was we to come on.
Something I want to get better at is moving when I say my line.
My favorite part of the production was when the whales had to get their hills because the smoke machine looked really cool over them.
My best bit of feedback for the production was from Miss Eglinton.
She said to me that “Great actions that you came up with”. :)

Production Diary 2014 #1
8/13/2014
Dear Diary, let me introduce myself. My name is Brayden and my role in the production is one of the orcas. So far we have been doing a play called The Seven Whales. Room 6 and 18 have all been working really hard on our play and there is 7 legends. My moves I have to do is point to the north and make a circle facing the ground. My line is, “ you need to check out that Tohunga that resides just north of Mahia. He is taking too many fish."

Vote for Toothless poster
You should vote for Toothless because they all look like Toothless the dragon from How to Train Your Dragon and they all look like half dragon and half eel. Some of us like How to
Train Your Dragon 2 and 1. Toothless and Hiccup are the main characters in the movie and the stars of How to Train Your Dragon 1 and 2.

Skype Craig Palmer reflection
Skype Craig Palmer reflection
Today my class room 6 did a Skype call with Cameron’s uncle Craig Palmer and room 8 did the same but they came to our class and we all told him our own question. The Commonwealth games are in Glasgow Scotland and Craig is a cyclist. My question was “how long have been a cyclist for?” I really loved talking to Cameron's and Thomas uncle he was really into cycling and he really loves to cycle. He really enjoys to cycle and he is a cycling scientist. When we ask some questions it was time for him to go because Scotland has a different time to new Zealand because Scotland is on the other side of the world. Glasgow is a village for all the competitors that compete in the Glasgow Commonwealth games.

Imaginary Trip to Mars
I am really scared because I have never been to Mars before and I will never see anyone from earth again. I will miss my family sooo much and I will cry because I miss them so much. “Are you ready for blast off” said NASA. “Yes” said the kid
“5 4 3 2 1 Blast off” shouted the kid “bye mum and dad forever” the kid said in his head “Woooooo this is fun” the kid shouted ,a lot of months later.
“I have finally reached Mars” shouted the kid “I better check for Marshins with right to the Marshins to see what they are doing and if they tried to get him he will shoot his men in black gun to kill them or freeze them. He goes back to their U.F.O and see what they have in the U.F.O. They had only 2 space guns that they forgot. He took the space guns so they can’t harm me.He runs out of the U.F.O and he looks if the aliens are coming they are not coming. He runs as fast as he can encase they come back when he doesn't know. 11 days later.
The kid has found his Mars base and he has a nap. Then he goes find the aliens to kill them so they can’t harm anyone. He goes back to his Mars base and goes to sleep to take a rest from his journey.

Planetarium visit.
HOLT PLANETARIUM VISIT
Monday 16 June 2014
Something I enjoyed was learning about Space because I did not know much about Space.
Something I found interesting was learning about black holes because I didn't know that when you go into a black hole you stretch so long that you just pop.
The most exciting thing about space is how we can see 1000 stars with binoculars and with a telescope you can see 100,000,000 because you can only see the bright stars with our eyes.
I would like to learn more about Spacecraft
“How do stars in the universe have an impact impact on us?”
I want the rest of my inquiry topic to be about: How did the planets get their names?.

Waka trip
Waka recount
Today my class room 6 and me, Went for a Waka ride down Clive River. We had a adult each and we had 7 groups. My adults name was Andrew, my groups names were James, Taylor and Nasa. When we got there the Waka leaders name was Jim Edwards. Here is a link to the boat we all went on Ngati Kahungunu Waka. Our motto for room 6 is, he Waka eke noa. We got life jackets on and grab a little square carpet so are bottoms don’t get wet. We set off and Jim calls out tokiha which means Work together and maintaining the rhythm. We paddle he calls tokih a lot of times then he calls out the haka and we just keep paddling. We get to the end then we paddle backwards. Then we turn around and the right side of the waka with people on that side turn their paddles on the green side of the hoe. Then the left side do the same but they have to turn their hoe on the white.
Get ready- Kia riti
Paddle- Hoe
Stop- Whakamutu
Ta papa- Lean forward
Tipuna (carved on waka) - ancestors (people that have came before)
TÅ«matauenga - God of War
We went to turn the Waka and it was a lot of work. Then we keep going foward for a long time. We got under the bridge and he was doing the haka call. Then we all did a big turn to park the Waka up.
It was time to leave. We all had a try and Rosie said “thank you so much for taking us on the Waka”.
All of our hands were numb and sore. Then we went back to school and had morning tea. I thought it was lunch and I ate all my morning tea.
Then Mr M came into the class and then we had to make this story I am now. I really enjoyed listening to Jim about the weapons that the Maori people used long time ago.

flax rock
I could feel my hands sweating like a burning potato. My shoes had bad grip I got up a hard bit then I slipped, I got a bit ignored but I did it again and I passed my record and I was happy. I put my right hand up on a rock and I did the same with my left hand.I felt like I was flying in the air but I was hovering in the air.
My favorite thing at flax rock was hovering
My most challenging thing was climbing with sweaty hands
I am most proud of is always climbing higher and higher.

Kaitiaki of the Stream
Kaitiaki of the Stream
Text Type: Summary
Purpose: Inform the reader
WALT use different sentence starters
I know can do this when:
- My sentences start with different words
- Capital letters to start sentences and for someone’s name
- Full stops at the end of the sentences
Kaitiaki means the guardian. To be a guardian you look after something. You have the responsibility to care for it. Pataka Moore is the kaitiaki of the Mangapouri Stream by ÅŒtaki. He tries to keep the stream clean and look after it by talking to the people about its importance.
The stream is important because of the tuna (eels). It is the community’s stream and they want to look after it. They have used it in the past for kai, as a type of fridge, for bathing and drinking. Now the stream is polluted.
The community want to save the Mangapouri stream and they are working hard to get it clean again. one thing they can do think of ourselves as kaitiaki or guardians of their waterfall. They all need to be responsible.
